Mexican rebels pursued by U. S. troops

Insurgents fleeing across the border encounter new opposition.
Nine revolutionists captured and shot
Three More Battles Fought and Enemy Escapes to the Mountains. Conspiracy revealed in raid in Texas.

Monterrey (Mexico), july 1° A large force of rurales now on the northern frontier has been divided into small bands which are moving swiftly against the "revolutionists."
Two hundred seat to Las Vacas attacked to-day a small body of revolutionists camped on the Rio Grande, killing several be rest jumped into the river to swim across to Texas. 'The rurales fired on the men in the water and several went clown. Those who reached the American side were pursued by United States troops and a posse of deputy marshals.
The rurales are rapidly scattering the insurgent bands about Torreon and along the Rio Grande. the rurales are used to the country and the dense chaparral and in-tense heat have no terrors for diem.
Revolutionists captured.
A number of alleged revolutionist have been captured near Torreon in the last two days. It is reported that nine were summarily put to death at Matamoros yesterday, being placed in a row and shot. The Federal authorities are giving no quarter. So far no prisoners have been put in jail in this section.
President Ramon Corral, (sic) who is concluding the campaign, has ordered summary punishment meted to all who are implicated in the disorder.
Telegrams from Chihuahua today respond the northwestern part of that State in turmoil over the bold raid made yesterday upon the town of Palomas. The bandits are moving toward Cananea.
Another band of about fifty was seen today near San Pedro, State of Chihuahua.
Engagement at Juarez.
El Paso (Tex). july 1st- A conflict between the federal troops and revolutionist, in which several were shot, is reported at Juarez today from Casas Grandes, where a detachment was ordered last Monday after arriving Sunday from Chihuahua.
According to the report the soldiers after arriving at Casas Grandes, marched to the rendezvous of the insurgents in the mountains. They met with resistance for a time, but later the insurgents fled further in to the mountains.
Alter attacking Palomas, where one rebel was killed and several were injured, the insurgents fled over the mountains, beaded for Ascensión, southwest of Palomas. Fifty armed men stationed there were notified at once.
Attacked three times.
Osborn P. Brown of Casas Grandes, who headed the posse which chased fifty armed insurgents through the mountains of the country, when in El Paso to-day said the citizens were unable to had the raiders. He gave it as his opinion that the attack upon Palomas was made by Mexicans from the Sonora country. Palomas has been attacked three times before during uprisings.
The Mexicans who are charged with violating the neutrality laves, are still being held in jail here with the exception of Lauro Aguirre, who has given bond as no legal representative of the government has yet arrived for the hearing.
According to information received at the City of Mexico, four indians were killed and three captured in a battle between Mexican troops an Iaqua indians in the Bai State mountains.
In pursuance of the expressed policy to carry on the war against the indians with increased vigor, the Government will increase the force in the field against them to 4,000 men.
Such indians as are captured will be expelled to the southern section of the republic in the Quintets (sic) district
Plot is discovered.
San Antonio (Tex). July 1st- A plot for a general uprissing in Mexico to take place today was discovered here tonight in the finding of papers revealing the situation on the persons of Manuel y Rendón an Julian Cruz, prominent Mexicans and officers of the Sociedad Benevolencia, which has for years purported to be a fraternal organization, but which is now blieved to be nothing less than a revolutionary society which has been secretly carrying on its work for the disruption of the rule of Diaz.
The hall of the society was raided by secret service officers, who have been working be the case. Rendón and Cruz fought until overpowered.
The Mexican Government has been notified on the facts learned in tonight's cap¬ture and all pretense that the uprising is that of bandits has been set aside.
