By E. S. O'Reilly

Special dispatch to the Call
San Antonio, Tex., july 1st.-A plot for a general uprising in Mexico to take place today was discovered here tonight by the finding of papers revealing the situation on the persons of Manuel Rendon and Julian Cruz, prominent Mexicans and officers at the Sociedad Benevolencia, which has for years purported to be a fraternal organization, but is now believed to be nothing less than a revolutionary society, and has been secretly carrying en its work for the disruption of the role of Diaz.
The hall of the society was raided by secret service officials, who had beta working on the case. One other man escaped. Rendon and Cruz fought until overpowered. The officials refused to give out details of what they have learned, but enough has gone forth to show that their capture was one of the most important in years. There is little doubt that the society represented the revolutionary party in Texas, and acted under directions from more important headquarters in Mexico.
Attack is bungled
It is known that the attack on Las Vacas, across the border from Del Río, Tex., which ocurred last night, was a bungled affair and had really been planned for today, when a general outbreak through the republic of Mexico was scheduled to take place. It is feared that uprisings may occur tonight.
Government officials hold the idea that if outbreaks occur they will be simultaneous at scores of the smaller towns. They believe the revolutionists would pope by the capture of the smaller places to strengthen their ranks, secure supplies, capital and ammunition, and then be enabled to move on the larger towns and by degrees secure the desired control of the entire republic.
The Mexican government has been notified of the facts learned in tonight's cap¬ture, and all pretense that the uprising is that of bandits has been cast aside. This cap¬ture undoubtedly will prove the biggest sensation of the present so called Mexican revolution, and strengthens the belief that it really is a revolution. Not for years has such a sensational exposure of Mexican affairs been sprung. It is hinted that much more information has been learned by the officials than will be given out.
Troops to patrol border
Two companies of troops were sent to Del Rio last night from the force at Fort Sam Houston and will patrol the Rio Grande river, using all necessary vigilance to preserve the neutrality of the United States. It is rumored that there is strong fear of international complications, and everything possible will be done to prevent revolutionists crossing the river. It is known positively that a number of prominent Ameri¬cano are in the plot with the revolutionists and have been furnishing funds and supplies. The name of a millionaire ranchman, who is known to be in disfavor with the present rule in Mexico, is linked with these rumors, and a number of arrests are probable within the next few days.
