Nine Fighting Eighty to Death
Mexican Federal Force Is Bombarding
Very Small Group of Rebels.
SAN DIEGO, march 17.
Barricaded in an adobe house in the little hamlet of Tecate, nine
insurrectos are being bombarded today by eighty Mexican federals who
attacked the place at daylight.
The rebels were surprised
but Rodriguez, the leader, with fourteen of his thirty one men,
succeeded in breaking through the cordon and escaping.
Two rebels have been
killed, six wounded and the remainder of the little band is fighting
to the death.
Two federals have been
killed.
Rodríguez with his
followers succeeded in joining another band of insurrectos at San
Ysidro where they are awaiting attack by another party of federals.
